Got a call from this number today, the call was male with an African accent. He said he was from PTSB and had my name, started to ask me about a transaction on my account. I hung up
. Definitely a scam.

Male, said he was fraud dept at PTSB. Knew my email and home address. Said there was an unusual transaction on my account and that he was blocking it. Got annoyed when I asked to phone back to check it was genuine. I later called the fraud dept and confirmed it was a phishing attempt.

This number keeps calling, talking about suspicious activity on my account. I recognised the voice from a previous month he called saying the same thing. I checked with my bank and there is no log of that outbound call or any suspicious activity on my account. Hung up!

Male knew my surname asked for DOB saying there were 3 Revolut transactions attempted from my BOI account, couldn’t specify the Revolut just that it was coming from a different county to me within Ireland.
I questioned whether the call was legit given all the fraud calls. He said if I felt better then head into a local branch as he ‘has a lot of calls to make.’ He didn’t sound reassuring at all and just hung up after I had questioned him. Didn’t feel confident to go ahead with the call and when he abruptly hung up I’m glad I didn’t give any info!

Told me they were AIB and someone was logging into my account. I dont have an AIB account he also had my surname, but called me a different name at first. Scam caller.
