What can the users learn about a number that is calling them?
Users can find the reviews of the phone number written by other users, the interest in the phone number in the last month and, if possible, its location (for landlines). Sometimes, there are no reviews for a given phone number. If, however, the page has e.g. a thousand views, it shows that it is most likely an annoying caller.
The telecom regulator’s efforts to curb pesky commercial calls appear to be in vain as mobile users are being increasingly bombarded by unknown callers. A whopping 66% of mobile users continue to get 3 or even more pesky calls every day and most originate from personal mobile numbers, according to a national survey…
Telecommunications entities were the second most impersonated by scammers to carry out customer care number-based frauds in 2022 according to a report by CloudSEK, a digital threat identification and resolution firm.
