Do not answer and try not divulge your mobile number to insurance companies for quotes online or other in the future as they are selling these on to these scammers. The telephone regulators can do jack all if you are as silly to give your number out to any tom, and Harry let it be for charity or not it's your telephone bill that's being deducted by these scammers who get your data from you not being vigilant!

They rang me twice today. Second time I kept them on phone and managed to extract some vague information:
They are a London call centre called "B Media consulting trading Co" !!!!!
They say their parent is "Binary 365 Options" I could not get phone no or address or website.
Look up "Binary Options" on Wiki and you will see that they are a selling a dangerous betting system based on the Stock Market! Ireland has had its share of amateur Stock Market gambling!
Stay far away from this shower!

Seems to be a marketing number. Asked questions about trading online or online trading. I got the impression it was about trading in stocks and shares, something I do not do. So the call was not relevant to me. I therefore hung up as I thought it was a scam and the girl had a foreign accent which I could not understand her. She also did not seem to have clue of what she was even asking question about.

I had exactly the same experience today. Any idea who could that be? Were you charged for the call?

Scammers are spoofing bank phone numbers to rob victims

Oct 28, 2020blog.malwarebytes.com

It can be a very convincing trick… “You can check the number in your display online sir. You’ll see I’m really calling from your bank.” That is, of course, if you are unaware that phone numbers can be spoofed. Then again, they wouldn’t be successful scammers if they weren’t convincing. If you suggest calling them…
