Was phoned and a gentleman with an Indian accent explained he was calling from the Revenue and I had a 900 euro rebate due and all I had to do was provide my debit card details, which he guessed was Visa. I went along and he proceeded to call out the first four digits of the card, which are the same for every card, requesting that I complete the rest for verification. I could hear others in the background discussing the same 'rebate' with their callers. When I suggested they send a cheque they promptly hung up. When I phoned the Gardai to report it they mentioned that they were currently working on a case where it had just happened to another lady.
