Who creates the database and how is the trustworthiness of the comments ensured?
The phone number database and ratings are created by the users themselves. They can add their reviews either through the website or through the Call Insider app.
Comments are posted by the users of the website anonymously, so it is not possible to ensure their 100% trustworthiness. We, of course, get requests to remove comments on phone numbers stating that they are a tool of competition and they have been fabricated. We, therefore, reserve the right to delete comments or even disable comments for a particular number.
Every user can deactivate any comment until the moderators deal with it. Just click the bin icon in the bottom right corner, fill in a short form and confirm the email address where a statement on how the moderators dealt with the comment will be sent.

Just had a surprising telephone call (Time 08.44hrs) from someone purporting to be an employee from Eircom technical team. They didn't give me their name but wanted to sort out some technical issues with my Eircom connection. I said I was not with Eircom. The technician said he had my details showing that I was with Eircom and he had all my details like address etc. I repeated that I was not with Eircom and that he must have the "wrong number". He got very angry and told me that I was a "liar". I asked him: "Where was he ringing from?" He declined to answer, promptly putting down his phone. I don't think Eircom with all their training in customer relations would ever behave like this. Thankfully I am thick-skinned.
